Executive Director, Ms Maey Leow was invited as a speaker for a half-day seminar on Scaling New Heights: Delivering the World's Tallest 63 Storey PPVC Tower (Promenade Peak).
Delivering the Tallest Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction (PPVC) Building
The advancement of Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction (PPVC) techniques has ushered in a new paradigm in urban high-rise development. The presentation examines the successful execution of the tallest PPVC project globally, focusing on the structural, logistical, and regulatory innovations that enabled volumetric construction to scale vertically without compromising performance, safety, or compliance.
Key strategies include the deployment of composite shear wall systems for axial and lateral load resistance, optimized through aerodynamic validation, and precision stacking enabled by proprietary inter-module connection solutions. The project leveraged just-in-time manufacturing, coordinated vertical transportation to achieve tight construction tolerances and maintain quality assurance across all levels.
This project marks a significant milestone in modular engineering, offering scalable and sustainable solutions for high-density environments. It sets a precedent for future volumetric high-rise applications and contributes to the evolving discourse on prefabrication, urban resilience, and global construction practices.
